Obituary of Bernice-Stewart James

Bernice Stewart James PELZER, SC-- Bernice Stewart James formerly of Pelzer, widow of Lewis L.C. James Sr., passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Adgar Lee and Annie Canty Stewart. Surviving are one daughter, Shirley S. Thompson of Greenville; three sons, Lewis Calvin (Teresa) James, Jr. of Greer, Howard B. (Lillie) James of San Antonio, TX, and Timothy D. James of Anderson; one sister, Octavia Shanklin of Lexington, KY; one brother, William (Betty) Stewart of Haywood, CA; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Norman Stewart. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 4 from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary. Burial will be Wednesday, December 5 at 10:00 AM at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
