Obituary of Bernadette-C. Quirion

->FT. MYERS, Fla. -- Bernadette "Babs" C. Quirion joined her husband in heaven on Feb. 17, 2008, following a short illness in Ft. Myers.Born in Liverpool, England, on Jan. 6, 1924, to Joseph and Mary Bennett; Babs came to America in 1950.Here she met her soulmate and the love of her life, Jerome R. Quirion, whom she married on April 25, 1954.In 1955 after moving to Waterville, Maine, Bernadette worked until 1992 at her husbands side at Joe's Smoke Shop and Temple Street Bookstore. She was a great advocate for children and volunteered many hours to help build the Hiltop School for Handicapped Children.Her greatest passion was history and she traveled extensively throughout the United States and England. In August she made her final journey home to England, recapping memories of yesteryear.Mrs. Quirion is survived by her nephew, Anthony Broster of Thailand and his daughter, Sophie Broster, of England as well as her close friend and travel companion, Roxana and her family Celon and Angus Murphy.Bernadette had touched many lives and will live in all of us.
