Obituary of Beatrice Jackson

JACKSON, Beatrice L.June 12, 1923 - February 9, 2012 Beatrice passed away at the Bow View Manor after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, J.H. (Jack), daughters Linda and Peggy, her sisters, Sandra Morgotch (Vernon, BC) and Irma Esopenko (Yorkton, SK), sister- in-law, Jeanette Johnson (Pineville, LA) and aunt, Anne Dygan (Irwin, PA), as well as cousins, nephews and one niece. Bea was born in Canora, SK to Nick and Nellie Morgotch, and grew up on her parents' farm near Hyas. She and J.H. were married in 1950 and for the first 10 years lived in various places in Alberta and Saskatchewan. They moved to Calgary in 1960 with their two young girls and purchased a house in Brentwood in 1962. Bea worked at the University of Calgary from 1966 to 1986. She was an enthusiastic volunteer for many years with The Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, and several other charities. Bea was predeceased by her infant son, James, her brother, Larry Morgotch of Yorkton, and sister, Rosalind Hobson of Edmonton. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Bow View Manor for their excellent care of Beatrice during the two years she lived there. A private family Service will be held at a later date.
