Memorial Funeral Service for Barbara Rockefeller Jamieson, who passed away April 3, 2009 will be Friday, April 10, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Port Orange Presbyterian Church, 4622 Clyde Morris Blvd. with the Rev. Dr. Calvin Gittner, officiating. Barbara was the daughter of Grace Clarke and Howard Rockefeller. She was born July 27, 1932 in Binghamton, N.Y. She was an Honor Graduate of Binghamton Central High School and worked for IBM Corporation in Endicott. She married John (Jack) Jamieson in 1953, he predceased her after 52 years of marriage, in 2005. They moved to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. area in 1957, where they were active in the Wappingers Falls Presbyterian Church for 47 years. During their residence there, Barbara established and managed Assistance Unlimited, the female division of L.J. Gonzer Associates, a personal services company. In 1970 she became sales division coordinator for Foss America, Inc. until 1977 when she returned to IBM East Fishkill where she retired in 1991 as a P.C. Device Scheduler. After a brief retirement, she went to work in her husband's business, Dutchess House Advertising Specialities, Inc. until they both retired in 1999 and moved to Port Orange, FL. She was a member of the Port Orange Presbyterian Church. Barbara loved people and was a very compassionate and caring person all her life always extending a helpful hand to friends and relatives in their time of need. She will be greatly missed by those that knew her and especially by her family that she so dearly loved. Survivors are two daughters, Cheryl J. Wagner of Santa Cruz, CA and Tracey L. Jamieson of Port Orange; a son, Bryan C. Jamieson of Austin, TX; and two granddaughters, Kaitlan and Hailey Jamieson, also of Austin. Donations may be sent to the Hospice of Volusia /Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Interment will be at the discretion of the family in Vestal Hills Memorial Cemetery Vestal, N.Y.
