Obituary of Barbara Anderson

ANDERSON, Barbara (nee Green) November 13, 1929 March 17, 2005 Born in Swansea, South Wales. Leaves behind husband Joseph ("Andy"), daughter Nancy (and partner Brian), son Michael and grandson Alex, and many friends. Barbara was a nurse in civilian life in Wales, then enlisted in the British Army as a nursing sister. Married Joe in Wales in 1954 and has made her home in Canada since 1956. She nursed in Almonte (Ontario) and in Victoria at the Royal Jubilee hospital. Barbara was an organizer and volunteered in several organizations in Almonte, Victoria, Vancouver and up the island including the Osteoporosis and Cancer Societies. She loved her last hobby and her fellow quilters, and was a fine artist. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Victoria Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life afternoon tea will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel in Victoria on Thursday March 24, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. 55733
