Joseph Benjamin "Big Ben" Campbell, 55, of Lebanon, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was born in Mt. Sterling, Ky., to Nancy Justice and William David Campbell in the spring of 1959. He earned his living as a farmer in Washington County. He loved being outside, breathing fresh air and gardening with his wife Dottie. He had professed faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith.He was preceded in death by a son, William David Campbell. Besides his parents, William David Campbell and wife Reece of Mt. Sterling, and Nancy (Justice) Chase of Indianapolis, Ind., "Big Ben" is survived by his wife Dottie (Tamme) Campbell of Lebanon; four children, Joseph Benjamin Campbell, Jr., Quenton Beaux Campbell, Frances Elaine May Campbell, and Kimberlee Marie Campbell, all of Springfield; one stepdaughter, Cameron Nicole Lunsford of Lebanon; six grandchildren, William, Kira, Peyton, Jared, Natalie, and Haley; one brother, William Randolph Campbell of Indianapolis, Ind..Per Mr. Campbell's wishes, funeral services were not held. Instead, the family conducted a picnic in his honor on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Idle Hour Park in Springfield, Ky.LR Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Campbellsville, Ky., was in charge of the arrangements.
