Obituary of Anthony Thomas


THOMAS-Anthony J. Entered into eternal rest peacefully at Helen Porter Nursing Home, Middlebury, Vermont onAugust 3, 2012. He is survived by his cousins Maryann Gray-Mullins and Denis Gray. Anthony was born on April 7, 1923 in New York, NY and lived as a young boy in Jackson Heights, New York with his Aunt and Uncle the late James and Kathleen Hannon. He served in the US Army during WWII for two and a half years overseas in Europe in the Signal Corp. After returning from the war he worked for Texaco in the maritime insurance department. He later worked for Saks 5th Avenue. Anthony attended Bishop Loughlin Memorial HS, Brooklyn, NY and later earned hisBA in business from CCNY. He had a lifelong interestin economics especially the Henry George School andfollowed the NY Yankeesand NY Giants and otherNY athletic teams. Anthony attended many of the World Series games, especially those that featured Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. Anthony will repose on Thursday, from 3-8pm at Conway Funeral Home 82-19 Northern Boulevard, Jackson Heights, NY. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 9:45am St. Joan of Arc RC Church, Jackson Heights, NY.
