Obituary of Anthony-Jerome Thomas

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Athens C.M.E. Church for Anthony Jerome Thomas, 44, Wilmington, N.C., who died Wednesday, June 25, 2008. The Rev. Janis Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Hill Cemetery. Watson and Sons Funeral Home directing.Mr. Thomas graduated from Litchfield High School in 1981. He attended Alabama A&M University in Huntsville for two years and later attended culinary school while serving in Germany.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Amanda Ayers, Jimmie Ayers and Angle C. Dickerson, Gadsden, and G. W. Jones, Huntsville.He is survived by his wife, Amelia Thomas, Wilmington, N.C.; his children, Ashley and Andrew, Virginia; his parents, Willie J. Thomas and Ednevia Thomas, Gadsden; siblings, Victor Thomas, Atlanta, Ga., Michael Thomas and Antwone (Michelle) Thomas, Gadsden, and Kristi (Allen) Mays, Birmingham; aunts, Odell Ayers, Georgia Henley, Anna Payne, Rita Faye Jones, Carol Chapman and Cora (George) Underwood, Gadsden, Ethel (Horace) Hunt, Baltimore, Md., Mattie (Ronald) Flowers, Washington, D.C., Evelena (Charles) Hopkins, Ora (Kip) Heard, Detroit, Mich., and Doris (Alonzo) Shack; uncle, Willie (Sharon) Jones, Atlanta, Ga.; friends, Orlando Isom and Wendell Jenkins; and other relatives and many dear friends.Visitation will be from 7 until closing tonight.
