Obituary of Annie-Laura James

Funeral for Annie Laura James, 92, of Decatur will be today, April 1, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Joseph Culotta officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.Mrs. James died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Jan. 15, 1913, in Morgan County to Andrew Davis Johnson and Mary Alice Johnson. She was a homemaker. She was the oldest member of Annuniciation of the Lord Catholic Church where she grew flowers for the church. She received numerous prizes for her floral arrangements. Mrs. James was preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Bill” James; two sons, John Paul James and William Robert James III; and two brothers, Lonnie Johnson and Dee Johnson. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Angle and Rosemary Speegle, both of Decatur; two sons, Wayne James and his wife, Joyce, and Billy R. James and his wife, Sara, all of Decatur; one sister, Irene Weir and her husband, Charles, of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Frank Johnson of Hartselle; eight grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Todd Carden, Danny Angle, Billy Angle, Patrick Ault and Tommy James.
