Obituary of Annette-J. Poulin


WATERVILLE -- Annette J. Poulin, 85, of Ticonic St., passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 at Lakewood Manor in Waterville with all her family at her side.She was born in Waterville, March 5, 1925, the daughter of Leonard and Odile (Rossignol) Hebert.She attended Waterville High School. She was very active in the Rosary Sodality since 1985 and in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #1285 in Waterville since 1970, as a lifetime member and its first vice-president. She was also a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Waterville.Mrs. Poulin liked to embroider, knit, crochet, garden, shop and travel. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all her family. She volunteered at Togus VA Medical Center for several years and also worked at the Waterville voting polls at election time. She was very involved in David Quirion Park on the corner of Drummond Avenue in Waterville.She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Edmund Poulin, who died Dec. 9, 1982; and by three brothers, Aurele, Gerard and Lawrence Hebert; and a baby girl at birth.She is survived by four sons, Daniel Poulin, Steven and wife Cindy Poulin all of Waterville, Richard and wife Celeste Poulin of Sidney, and Ronald Poulin of Winslow; six daughters, Jeanne and husband Donald Garland of Fairfield, Rose and husband Patrick Poulin, Dianne and husband Raymond Poulin, and Sharon Clarke Poulin all of Waterville, Cynthia and husband Brian Belanger of Oakland, and Catherine Poulin and significant other Robert of Smithfield; a sister, Jeannette Albert of Lewiston; 40 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a life-long friend, Doris Gregory of Waterville. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at Lakewood Manor for their care, comfort and support given to Annette and her family.Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Notre Dame Church, 112 Silver St., Waterville. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove St., Waterville.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Moonlite Bay (Alzheimer's Unit) c/o Lakewood Manor, 220 Kennedy Memorial Drive, Waterville, ME 04901.
