ANNE THOMAS PORTAGE/MERRILLVILLE, IN Anne Thomas, age 95, of Portage, IN, formerly of Merrillville, IN, passed away Monday, October 22, 2007. She is survived by six nieces and nephews: Floyd S. Walker of Island Lake, IL, Arlene (Al) Bowie of Colorado Springs, CO, Janice Milakovich of Lake Station, IN, Boris J. Thomas of Denver, CO, Lynda (Virgil) Smith of Lowell, IN and Paul (Pam) Thomas of Valparaiso, IN; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: Nick and Stephania Thomas; three brothers: Steve, Boris and Vladimer Thomas; two sisters: Pauline Thomas and Julia Walker. Anne was a life member of The Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, a retired Army Staff Sergeant having served in World War II and the Korean War, a retired bookkeeper from Sears Roebuck & Co., and a life member of American Legion Glen Park Post 214.
