Obituary of Anne-H. Williams

Mrs. Anne Hatch Williams, of Florence, passed away Friday, July 1, 2011.The family will receive friends 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Elkins Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Greenview Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Pope will officiate.Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Florence State Teachers College, where she earned a BA degree in English. Her civic interests included the Muscle Shoals District Service League, Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, Friends of the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library, Florence Study Club and the Hickory Hills Garden Club. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, Florence.She is survived by a son, Kenneth Alfred Williams Jr. and wife, Landis Craig Williams; grandchildren, Anne Landis Jetton and husband, Jeff, of Nashville, Tenn., and Benjamin Craig Williams, of Atlanta.Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Williams Sr.; a daughter, Ellen Bartlett Williams; and parents, Annie Kimbell Hatch and Frederick Howard Hatch.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of First United Methodist Church, Florence, the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library or a charity of your choice.Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
