Obituary of Anna-Mae Wheeler


TRENTON - Anna Mae Wheeler, affectionately known as "Miss. Ann," was born in Sandersville, Ga. on May 6, 1930, to the late Melton and Minnie Jackson. Miss. Ann was called home early Saturday morning, September 28, 2013. Miss. Ann was educated in the Sandersville Public School System. In 1950 Anna married Fred Lee Wheeler Sr. In 1954 the couple relocated to Trenton with their two young sons. Shortly after coming to Trenton Miss. Ann found employment at the Nassau Club in Princeton where she enjoyed cooking for many years. Miss. Ann continued to enjoy cooking at Volunteers of America and Mill Hill Day Care Center until and after she retired. She was a former member of Galilee Baptist Church and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board Ministry for many years. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband, Freddie Lee Wheeler Sr., her son, Freddie Lee Wheeler Jr., and five brothers and one sister. She leaves to cherish her fond memories her three sons, Will Wheeler, Earl P. Wheeler (Little Bit) and Lawrence Tony Rogers (Rena); one daughter, Jocelyn Dussintyl (Kevin), adopted daughter, Willie Mae Caroll; daughter-in-law, Toni Wheeler; one sister, Louise Jackson; one sister- in-law, Florence Moore; four grandsons and two granddaughters, Fredrick Lee Allen, Jamale Rogers-James, Patrice and Robert Caroll, Jerry Rogers Sr. (Myranda), and Shaquanna Rogers; five great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jerry Rogers Jr., Beonka, Adrianna and Alona; special cousins, Arthur, Inez, Cheri, Ola Thompson and Joann Lewis; godsister, Betty Coon, god- brothers, Johnny and Mitchell; special friends, Leroy Barns and Johnnie Mae Scott; goddaughters, Sheila Sherman-Baldwin, Ernstine Massey and Barbra Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment Ewing Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
