Obituary of Alan-And-Carole Campbell

CAMPBELLAlan Craig(September 12, 1939 – July 31, 2014)Carole Florence (nee Scott)(February 10, 1943 – November 12, 2013)It is with great sadness the families of Craig and Carole announce their passing. Both were born in Vancouver and attended UBC. Married in 1963, they moved to Hamilton, then Toronto where Craig obtained his Masters degree in aeronautical engineering. Upon completion, they moved to Seattle where Craig had a long and distinguished career with Boeing, working on several airplanes, the space shuttle and the secret "Star Wars" program. Carole meanwhile pursued her studies, completing a doctorate in child psychology and latterly teaching at universities in Arkansas and Arizona. They retired to Green Valley, AZ. where they enjoyed biking, hiking and travel. A cottage on Stuart Island, the northernmost San Juan Island, was their favourite respite and they spent many enjoyable months there over the years accompanied by their family. Craig was particularly adept at creating systems to survive "in the bush", capturing rainwater, generating electricity and the like. Carole meanwhile was more likely to be found with her nose in a good book. It was only latterly that their health really failed them, Carole succumbing to the cancer that she had bravely fought (and beaten) for many years, and Craig losing his two year battle with ALS. They leave to mourn their two sons, David and Casey, daughter-in-law Jenni, granddaughters Halen and Stevi, his sister Lynne (Peter Bogardus), his brother Bruce (Sooz), her brother Ken (Lois) and numerous nephews and nieces. A private Memorial has been held.
