Obituary of Agnes-Evelyn-Breeden Jordan

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 19, 2010 at Humphreys County Funeral Home. Bro. Paul Edwards, nephew, Eddie Breeden, and former metro Chief of Police, Joe Casey, will officiate the service with interment in Ebenezer Cemetery, New Johnsonville, TN. Mrs. Jordan was born March 29, 1921 in Humphreys County. She worked 36 1/2 years for Metropolitan Police Dept. from 1953 to 1989 as secretary to seven police chiefs, retiring as Senior Administrative Assistant in 1989. She was a member of Pisgah Methodist Church. And a lifetime member of Hustburg Eastern Star. Mrs. Jordan was the daughter of the late Henry Lee Breeden and Elsie Watts Breeden. Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband, James A, Jordan, Jr.; three brothers, Henry Edward Breeden, Sr., Robert Russell (Dutch) Breeden and Charles Douglas Breeden. Survivors include two sisters, Mary Frances Cantrell of New Johnsonville, TN and Reba Louise( Norman ) Jordan of Tampa FL; sister-in-law, Annie Margaret Brown Breeden, of New Johnsonville; sister-in-law, Edith (Charlie) Peebles of Columbia, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
