ObituaryWilliam (Bill) Watkins, 88, passed away March 16, 2007. Bill was born March 28, 1918 in Middleton, GA, to the late Bishop William T. Watkins and Edith Watkins of Louisville, KY. Bill graduated from Emory College in 1938, attended Law School at Emory University, and graduated with a Law Degree from the University of South Carolina. Bill served in the United State Army during WWII. Bill moved to Fort Myers in 1988 from Louisville, Ky where he was a Stock Broker with Merrill Lynch, retiring as a Vice President after thirty-seven years. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and a craftsman of fine furniture following the simple lines of fine English cabinetmakers Hepplewhite and Sheraton.Bill is predeceased by his first wife Ruth Sansom, their daughter Mary, and his second wife Mary Sansom Borowski. He is survived by three stepchildren, Lynn Humphrey, Ann Farmer and Paul Borowski, nephew Dr. John Watkins and nieces Serena Mudd, Stephanie Sansom, Karen Ambrose and many other nieces and nephews.The memorial service will be held at Cypress Lakes United Methodist Church, March 24, 2007 at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice.
