WILLIAM R. OLSEN SCHERERVILLE, IN William R. Olsen age 81, late of Schererville, IN and formerly of Dearborn, MI. Beloved husband of Frances Olsen (Matich) and the late Patricia Olsen. Loving father of Janice (Terry) Braun, Jon (Lisa) Olsen and Amy (Tom) Ashe. Stepfather of Michael (Darlene Rubcic) Matich, Mark (Frances) Matich and Melanie Matich. Devoted grandfather of Madelene, Alana, Kelly, William, Emma, Max, Annamarie, Mark (Jenny), Michelle and Jonathan. Dear brother of late Bernard (Martha) Olsen and Robert (Nadine) Olsen. Also survived by his aunt, Betty Dolinak; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Olsen was a WW II U. S. Army veteran. He was a member of National Maritime Union. Bill sailed for numerous companies on the Great Lakes and also on many deep sea vessels. He was a member of the Brunswick American Legion Post # 485 in Schererville, IN. Memorial visitation Saturday October 17, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago, IL. Cemetery private.
