THOMSON, William George. After a short illness on Wednesday, September 8, 1999. Devoted husband for sixty-two years to his beloved Irene (nee Offer). Adored father of Barbara (Frank Gale) and Patty (John Beaton). Cherished grandfather of Kathleen (Bryan Pitts), Maureen Gale, Suzanne Growen and Erik Growen (Cathy) and great-grandfather of Leif Growen. Born in Maxville, Ontario to James and Elizabeth Thomson. He lived most of his life in Ottawa. His life brought love to all who knew him. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, Ottawa on Friday, September 10, 1999 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, September 11, 1999 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
