GATES William Alfred (Bill) born in Treherne, Manitoba, August 8, 1917, passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Saturday, July 10, 2004. He is survived by his son, Stephen (Lara) Gates; daughter Ruth (Cameron) Jones; grandchildren Nicolas, Emily, Noah, Matthias, Cianna; and his sister Grace Hill. Dad farmed the fields of Manitoba in his early years before settling in Victoria and marrying Mae (French) who predeceased him in 1962. He then married Grace (Pearce) in 1964 and together they raised their two children. Dad was a valued employee of Eatons for over 30 years before retiring in 1987. He spent most of his senior years caring for Grace, who predeceased him in 2002. Graveside service will be held Friday, July 16th, at 1:00 pm at Royal Oak Burial Park. Memorial service and tea will follow at 2:00 pm at Oak Bay Gospel Assembly, 1900 Oak Bay Ave., Victoria, B.C. The family wishes to express our sincere appreciation to the staff at Glengarry Hospital for the many years of care and provision for both our parents.
