William "Bill" Faulkner, 89, of Leighton, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, in Winter Haven, Fla. His visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Herschel Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery.Mr. Faulkner was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the UAW Local No. 182. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Gilbert Faulkner; son, Tom Elliott; brother, Tom Faulkner; and sisters, Margaret Helka and Collen Creech.He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen J. Faulkner, of Leighton; sons, James Faulkner (Beth), of Ypsilant, Mich., Gary Faulkner (Gearldine), of Tuscumbia, William Elliott (Susan), of Blaine, Minn.; daughter, Sherry Crowe (William), of Leighton; daughter-in-law, Julie Elliott, of Michigan; brother, Freddie Sheffield; special nephew, Freddie Shoemaker; grandchildren, Jeff Elliott, Steve Elliott, Brian Elliott, Kevin Elliott, Scott Elliott, Kim Faulkner Kantz, Travis Faulkner, Jill Faulkner Bogdan, Danny Quick, Jimmy Quick, Phillip Quick and Kevin Quick.Pallbearers will be Travis Faulkner, Brian Elliott, Kevin Elliott, Scott Elliott, Josh Bogdan, Scott Wallace, Jeff Elliott and Steve Elliott.Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia, is directing.
