->MOUNT VERNON -- William F. Fagan, 88, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at his home.He was born July 9, 1919, in Jersey City, N.J., the son of Charles Fagan. He grew up in Jersey City but moved to Iowa and spent his young-adult life working on farms there. Bill entered the Army Air Corps during World War II and served as a radar repairman in the Pacific Theater. He spent a great deal of time on Christmas Island and was a sergeant when honorably discharged. After the war, he returned to the United States and lived in several places, settling in Maine, where he eventually retired.Bill is survived by his daughter, Patty Cole, of Fairfield; his dear friends, Shari Hamilton, Paul Crockett and McKenzie Jones; three other children; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.There will not be any services at this time; however, a graveside service will be held in the spring at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road in Augusta.Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. www.khrfuneralhomes.com
