Olson, William EdwardJuly 21, 1923 - July 30, 2007William Edward "Bill" Olson, 84, Sarasota, formerly of St. Paul, Minn., died July 30, 2007.National Cremation Society is in charge of arrangements.A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Bill was born in St. Paul, and was a veteran of the Eighth Air Force in World War II. He was a pilot stationed in Molesworth, England, flying B-17s with the 303rd Bombardment Group. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and the Harvard School of Business.He was employed with the 3M Company for 32 years, retiring as corporate vice president in charge of Purchasing, Transportation and International Distribution. He was a member in good standing of several business and professional organizations, including the board of directors of Metropolitan Economic Development Association, and the Transportation Association of America. He was also a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court No. 9 and the Osman Temple-Shrine.He has lived in Sarasota with his beloved wife Elsa since 1988, and his presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Shriner's Children's Hospitals, or to the Salvation Army.
