William Edward Olson, 76, Rotonda West and formerly of North Port, died July 16, 2003. He was born July 17, 1926, in Chicago and relocated to Florida from Wheeling, Ill. He then moved to Rotonda West five years ago from North Port. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of Teamsters Local 734 in Chicago. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mona; a daughter, Vicki Wallace of Wheeling; sons William H. of Tampa and Scot of Genoa City, Wis.; a sister, Madeline Schroeder of Lake Como, Wis.; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in Wheeling. Englewood Community Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
