Willie Jacobs Lakeland - Willie Mae Jacobs, age 83, died of respiratory arrest Oct. 9, 2006. She was born in Lady Lake on June 19, 1923. She retired from domestic work in private homes. She was a member of Spark Level MB Church in Cherry Lake. She was a 60-year member of Pilgrim Rest Freewill Baptist Church where she was president of Choir No. 2, president of Choir No. 2, president of the Home Mission No. 2, VP of Usher Board No. 2, chairman of the culinary committee, a mother board member and Sunday school teacher of the adult women class. She also was on the Love in Action committee. Mrs. Jacobs is survived by her sister, Annie Bell Davis; brother, Bishop Henry J. Rodmon, wife Hazel, sister-in-law, Betty Rodmon, a host of nieces and nephews, caregiver and nephew, Bishop Kenneth R. Brown, (wife, Anna), goddaughter, Lydia Glover. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Rest Freewill Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Mon. at the church. Burial will be in Lakeland Memorial Gardens. H.W. Oldham Funeral Home.
