Vivian Ivester Williams, 72, widow of the late Bobby G. Williams, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson, S.C.Born in Anderson, S.C., she was a daughter of the late George E. Ivester and Annie Mae Frye Ivester. Mrs. Williams was employed by Loom Products as Vice-President. She also volunteered and became a full-time employee of United Ministries.As a member of Taylors First Baptist Church, she was involved in many church activities. She helped institute the Big "A" Club, Christmas for Others, and the Ladies' Prime Time. She was chairman of the Personnel Committee and served on the Benevolence Committee and the Finance Committee. She was also involved with church missions.Surviving are her daughter, Anne Williams Thayer and her husband, Dr. Mark Wayne Thayer, of Anderson, S.C.; and three grandchildren, Brenn Crawford Thayer, Mark Johnston Thayer and Jordan Stephen Thayer. Also surviving is her sister, Helen L. Loftis of Iva, S.C.Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 29, 2006, in the chapel of Taylors First Baptist Church at 2 p.m., with Dr. Ernest L. Carswell officiating.
