Thomas J. Wheeler, 77, a resident of Easton for the past 23 years, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Theresa J. (Stacqualursi) Wheeler who died Nov. 13, 2010. Born in Boston, May 3, 1933, a son of the late Eben and Mary (Healy) Wheeler, he was raised in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Air Force. Thomas was employed as an engineer for 34 years and worked for MIT Lincoln Laboratories of Lexington. Thomas served as the past commander of the William D. Doyle VFW Post 2831 in Hyde Park. He enjoyed reading. He is survived by his family, John J. Santilli Sr. of Boston, Ronald S. Santilli of Acton and Alfred C. Santilli of Boxboro; three sisters, Mary OConnell of Hyde Park, Nancy Guide of Winthrop and Joan McLellan of Brewster; many grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert Wheeler, George Wheeler, Edward Wheeler and Ruth Wheeler. Private family services with military honors will be held at St. Josephs Cemetery Chapel, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas memory may be sent to Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.
