Thomas J. Farrell of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Kearny, died on Dec. 27, 2009. He was 49. Visiting will be in the Wilfred Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. Mass is on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Queen of Peace Church. Interment is in Holy Cross Cemetery. Born in Newark, Mr. Farrell lived in Kearny before moving to Florida 15 years ago. He was a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service in Kearny and West Palm Beach. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia; parents, William and Lillian Farrell, and brother, William, and is survived by his stepchildren, Whitney and Erik Derbyshire; sister, Kathleen Farrell-Gray; niece, Erin Farrell, and his best buddy Robert "Booby" Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
