Thomas Jason "Jake" Ellison, 90, of 248 Mahaffey Road in Williamston, widower of Catherine Louise Coker Ellison, died March 1, 2003, at Anderson Area Medical Center. Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late John Thomas and Leila Owens Ellison. He was a former police officer for the Williamston Police Department and a member of Big Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. Surviving are a sister, Zoa Caline Edwards of Greenville; a brother-in-law, John Haynie Coker of Williamston; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, March 3, 2003, from the chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Belton, conducted by the Revs. Bill Ellison and Mitch Gambrell. Burial will follow at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. today, before the service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622. The family is at their respective homes. Cox Funeral Home of Belton is serving the family of Mr. Ellison.
