Thomas Gault was born in Glasgow, Scotland and came to the U.S and New Rochelle with his family at the age of five. He graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1940 and served in the U.S Army during World War II in the South Pacific. Music was his life and he played the bass in many bands. In later years he played the electric bass guitar. He was a member of the Huguenot Masonic Lodge and the Manchester, VT VFW. He was employed by the United States Postal Service and retired around 1991. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Jane (Hamill) Gault, five brothers and five sisters. He is survived by loving nieces and nephews, Betty (McFall) Speight, Margaret (McFall) Reed and Andrea (Anderson) Poling of Akron, Ohio; Roy Anderson and Alicia (Anderson) Carr of Florida; and Andrew Anderson of North Canton, Ohio. His fourteen great-nieces and nephews; twenty-seven great-great-nieces and nephews; and three great-great-great-nieces will also miss him. We all love him very much. His special friends, Chick, Angie and Frank, will also miss him. The family wishes to give special thanks to his special caregiver "Fatou". Calling hours will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, January 18 followed by a memorial service at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea PL, New Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
