Thomas D. Barnett of BinghamtonThomas D. Barnett, 34, of Binghamton, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2002 while he slept in the home he shared with his girlfriend, Jill Patak. He is also survived by his daughters, Brittany and Kayla; his mother, Dorothy (Barnett) Salisbury and her husband Nathan; his foster parents, Helen and Jack Thompson; his sisters and brothers, Norma Jean Barnett, Catherine and Michael Boburka, David and Wendy Thompson, Frederick and Nancy Barnett, Alfonso and Anna Osborne, and Jose Barnett; his grandparents, Major, Sr. and Alma Barnett; his grandmothers, Agnes Thompson and Sallie Mae Barnett; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was born on September 13, 1967. He attended Chenango Forks High School, where he was an exceptional athlete. He went on to play football for the B.C. Jets. Tommy loved to entertain and make people laugh. He was known and loved by many. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson with the Rev. Alan Jagger, officiating. Burial will be in Spring Forest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friends wishing may make memorial contributions to a Trust Fund for Brittany and Kayla, c/o Helen Thompson, 1353 River Rd., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
