AGNEW, Thomas D.August 10, 1924 - January 21, 2013Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great- Grandfather, will be sorely missed by us all. He loved people & his sense of humour had to be understood, accepted and bantered in return. Tom was born in Prince Albert, Sask. He joined the Canadian Air Force in 1942 and served as Navigator and then Air Gunner for 4 years. Tom married "Holly", Christina (Hall) on August 13, 1947. Tom was predeceased by Holly in 1975. They had 3 daughters, Colleen (Receveur), Cheryl (Bartlett) & Christina (Tami). They gave him several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom's youngest sister and brother-in-law died and left 3 little girls, Jill, Lorie and Sharie. Tom brought them home to live as part of the family. Jill and Sharie, in turn, married and produced even more grandchildren. In due course, he attended the University of Sask. and graduated in Law in 1950. Tom practiced in PA and became a Provincial Judge in 1966, returning to practice private law in 1972. During 1957 Tom became Worshipful Master of Kinistio Lodge #1 Prince Albert & #63, also Shelbrooke #171 Lodge. He was District #1 & Secretary of #1 Lodge for 10 years. During those years, he was a member of the Public School Board in PA. He attended St. Albans Cathedral and was a member of the Choir for over 30 years, also serving in the Corporation & appointed Lay Reader by Bishop Martin. On August 25, 1984, Tom married Joan L. Forrester who has two daughters, Susan (Rowland) and Lesley (Murray), adding an additional 5 grandchildren and 3 great children to the family. He moved to BC and was admitted to the Bar in 1985. Due to illness, he retired in 1988. Joan & Tom enjoyed nearly 28 years of happy marriage, travelling, long and short trips and happy times with Members of the Langley Senior & Resource Centre and with many special friends before moving to Harrison Pointe in Langley which became their happiest of homes. Tom's capacity of love for his wife and family gave him great courage to face the many difficulties of surgeries and illness during their married life and his faith was beyond words. The family wish to thank the doctors and nurses for their wonderful patience and care throughout the week of suffering. There will be held a Celebration of Life at the Parish of St. George, Fort Langley on 16th February 2013 at 2 p.m. If willing, Donations may be offered by one's own choice.
