THERESA M. WISE (NEE MURPHY) PORTAGE, IN Theresa M. Wise (nee Murphy), age 46 of Portage, formerly of Merrillville, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. Theresa attended Merrillville High School. She received her nursing degree from Ivy Tech and worked as a registered nurse at Porter Memorial Hospital for over 10 years. She was chosen as the recipient of the 2009 "Patient Choice Award". She was a member of American Legion Post 260, Women's Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Betty Murphy; and her brother, Kevin Murphy. She is survived by her husband, Alan D. Wise; three children: Tammy McKamey of Portage, Tino (Tori) McKamey of Valparaiso and Thomas McKamey of Valparaiso; six sisters: Betsy (Mike) Rich of Hobart, Eileen Murphy of Wisconsin, Margaret (Allan) Patterson of California, Colleen (Greg) Dorin of Griffith, Kathy Murphy of Hobart and Erin (Brice) Staten of Hobart; two brothers: Peter (Patty) Murphy of Illinois and Larry (Amy) Murphy of Hobart; grandchildren: Verona, Desmond, Kendra and Arianna; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart.
