Avis de décès de Thomas-H. Hanlon

Thomas H. Hanlon passed away peacefully on January 13, 2011. He was 87 years old. Thomas was born on December 8, 1923 to Mary and William Hanlon. He joined the US Navy during WWII having served as a corpsman in the US Marine Corps in the South Pacific. He received a citation for his bravery in Guam. He worked for the NYC Transit Authority. He retired in 1976 and then worked for the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt Convent for 14 years. He was an usher at St. Catherine's Church for many years and a member of KOC, as well as the Blauvelt Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Lucille (Gioia) Hanlon; his daughter Kathleen Wojno and her husband Dennis; his brother William Hanlon and sister Jeanette Nyholm; grandchildren Kathyanne Urzi and husband Frank, Richard Ennis and wife Julie, Brian Ennis and wife Caitlin, and Sean Hanlon. His most joyous times came from spending time with his great grandchildren Olivia, Nicholas, Theresa, Christina, Ashley, Kristen, Jack and Alexa. Thomas was predeceased by his son, Thomas A. Hanlon. He will always be remembered for his hard work, his laughter, his jovial personality, his unending knowledge of the NY Yankees and his generosity and willingness to help others. Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 16 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 17 at St. Catherine's Church in Blauvelt at 11:15AM. Interment will be held on Tuesday, January 18 at 1:00PM at Fred Loescher Cemetery.
