June 18, 2006 Suzanne A. Richer, 59, of Onondaga Hill, died peacefully at home Sunday with her family by her side after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Schenectady, she lived in Ballston Spa until moving to the Onondaga Hill-Marcellus area37 years ago. Suzanne was a 1965 graduate of Ballston Spa High School and 1969 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh. A teacher with the Skaneateles Central Schools, she retired in 2002 after 29 years. Suzanne was a communicant of St. Michael's Church, Onondaga Hill, vice president of the Pastoral Council and volunteer for the Bethany Guild. She was also a volunteer for the Samaritan Center and member of NYSUT. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Ronald F. Richer; son, Michael (Megan) Richer of Camillus; daughter, Kathleen (Brian) Ciota of Marietta; sisters, Maureen (David) McIntire of Chestertown, MD and Eileen (Craig) Wilkie of Jamesville; grandchildren, Ethan Robert and Gavin Michael Ciota and Samantha Suzanne Richer; three nephews and many cousins. Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
