ObituarySteven Michael Watkins, age 44, of LaBelle, died October 11, 2001 at LaBelle. He was born January 24, 1957 at Fort Myers, FL. to John Croft Watkins and Mattie Lena Pendrey Watkins. He was active as a referee and coach in Lehigh Youth Soccer Association and LaBelle Youth Soccer and also active in the Lehigh Acres Little League. He worked as a supervisor for Thomas Marine Construction in Ft. Myers. Survivors include his wife: Tammy Watkins, sons: Darren, Ryan and Kyle Watkins, all of Lehigh Acres, daughters: Paige and Cassie Fortune, both of LaBelle, mother: Mattie Watkins of Alva, father and mother in law: Cecil and Carolyn Willis of LaBelle, maternal grandmother: Louise Pendrey of LaBelle, brothers: Bill Watkins of Oregon and Jay Watkins of Ft. Myers, sister: Mary Wiggins (Jack) of Lake Placid and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Watkins and grandparents, Bill and Flora Watkins and Jimmy Pendrey. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in LaBelle with Reverend Frank Deerey Jr. officiating. Intenrent will follow at Alva Cemetery. Visitation will be held TONIGHT from 6-8 p.m. at the Akin-Davis Funeral Home in LaBelle.
