TUSCALOOSA Stanley Lawrence "Larry" Park, age 48, of Tuscaloosa, died March 15, 2008, in Atlanta, Ga., while attending the SEC basketball tournaments. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa with Dr. Gil McKee officiating. Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service at First Baptist Church chapel. Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is directing.He was preceded in death by his grandparents.Survivors include his wife, Carol Keys Park; daughters, Deanna Christian Park and Mary Hagan Park; son, Andrew Miller Park; stepdaughter, Mandy Rene Keys of Birmingham; parents, Stanley Park and Sue Miller Park; sisters, Lynn Park Buckner (David) of Lakeland, Fla., and Kay Park McGiffert (Allen) of Tuscaloosa. Larry was born February 9, 1960, to Sue and Stanley Park of Tuscaloosa. He graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1978 and attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. Larry was a part of the family business, Park Transfer and Storage Company, and owner of Premier Spring Water Company. Larry's first love was that of his children and family, and his second love was Alabama sports. Larry was the current president of the Tip-Off Club of Alabama basketball where he met his loving wife Carol. Larry was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa and taught children's choir and Sunday school. Larry was an active coach in his son's basketball and little league baseball teams. Larry was a member of Indian Hills Country Club where he spent many of his years golfing. Pallbearers will be Henry Pruett, Eddie Tinsley, Joe Tinsley, Ricky Kirkpatrick, Taze Fulford, Bill McDonald, Dave Herndon and Wendell Hudson. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa Youth Building Fund or DCH Cancer Foundation.
