Sister Margaret Mary O' Malley, OP of Dominican Convent, Sparkill, New York, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 in Sienna Hall Infirmary, Dominican Convent, 175 Route 340, Sparkill, NY. Born in St. Louis, Mo. on June 20, 1921, Margaret Mary was the daughter of James and Mary O'Toole O'Malley. Margaret Mary entered the Dominican Congregation of Our Lady of the Rosary in Sparkill on September 1, 1940, and became known as Sister M. Felice, professing her first vows in 1942 and her final vows in 1947. Sister Margaret Mary earned a BA in Education from Webster College in 1950 and an MA in History from St. Louis University, in 1960. During her professional life, Sister Margaret Mary taught in Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in the Brooklyn diocese and in Holy Redeemer, St. James, St. Mark, St. Simon, Little Flower, Holy Redeemer, and St. Elizabeth Schools in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Sister also served as Principal of Holy Redeemer School in St. Louis. After thirty-five years as an educator, Sister spent the next twenty years as an advocate for the senior citizens in the St. Louis area. Upon retiring, Sister returned to Dominican Convent, Sparkill. Sister Margaret Mary O'Malley is survived by her sister Eileen O'Malley of St. Louis, Mo. and her cousin, Sister Margaret O'Driscoll of Sparkill and several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Dominican Convent, Sparkill, NY, on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 10:30 am. Visitation is on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 from 3:30 to 8:30 at the Convent, 175 Route 340, Sparkill, NY. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill.
