Stephen J. Bodnar a life long resident of North Rockland died October 15, 2010 at Nyack Hospital. He was 96. Stephen was born January 26, 1914 in Tomkins Cove to Steven and Mary (Gaetze) Bodnar. Stephen a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He was mainly fighting in the European Theater in France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. After his honorable discharge Stephen worked until his retirement for Bethlehem Steel as a boiler maker in Hoboken, N.J. A family man Stephen loved spending time with his family and will be sadly missed by all who loved him. Stephen is survived by his children Mary and her husband Thomas Hatala of Houston, Texas, Ann and her husband Nolan Thorn of Tomball, Texas, Stephen and his wife Sandi of Newtown Conn., Lidwin and her husband Jim Goodwine of Salisbury Mills, NY, George and his wife Amy of Washingtonville. He is also survived by his grandchildren David Hatala, Kaelen Enderby of Houston, Texas, Christopher Bodnar of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Stephanie Bodnar of NYC, NY, Jim and Matt Goodwine of Salisbury Mills, NY, Terriann Thorne of Tomball, Texas, his great-grandchild Ayelen Bodnar, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Stephen is predeceased by his wife Teresa (Torpey) on February 25, 1986. Friends may call Monday from 2-4,7-9 pm at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral HAVERSTRAW. Stephen's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. T.J.
