Ruth Wise Macon, GA- Katherine Ruth Tidwell Wise, age 100, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in St. Simons Island where she had been in a nursing home for the past three years. She was born in Macon and lived there most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.Q. Wise and is survived by her two sons, Alfred P. Wise of St. Simons and Charles Wayne Wise, of Macon; three grandchildren, Charles Wayne Wise, Jr. of Athens, Christopher Paul Wise of Macon and Wendy Caroline Wise Smith of Milledgeville; and six great-grandchildren; her sister, Hazel Snyder of Indianapolis, IN. Ruth was a long time sewing teacher at Dudley Hughes and twice president of the Macon Pilot Club. She was the oldest charter member of her church, Highland Hills Baptist where her services will be held on Friday, June 27 at 3 p.m. with Dr. Jake Hall and Rev. Cass DuCharme. Burial will follow at Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street on Thursday, June 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Highland Hills Baptist Church, 1370 Briarcliff Road, Macon 31211.
