Ruth Montiez Jennings May 12, 1931 - Jul 20, 2014 Gray, GA- Ruth Montiez Jennings, 83, of Huckabee Road, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at a local hospital. The family will greet friends one hour prior to an 11:00am, funeral service Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Rev. Danny Mundy will officiate. Mrs. Jennings was born May 12, 1931, and had lived in Gray for the past forty-two years. She was the daughter of the late Johnnie Butterworth and Onie Ruth Denham Butterworth. Mrs. Jennings was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was also a member of the Plentitude Homemaker's Club. She was retired from Kroger and was preceded in death by her husband: Rev. Harold Thomas Jennings and a daughter: Bobbie Edith Thistlewood. Mrs. Jennings is survived by her children and their spouses: Jim and Debbie Jennings of Milledgeville, Linda and Ed Jennings of Gray; Betsy Thistlewood-Smith and Johnny Smith of Byron, Laura Bates of Monticello; Faye and Johnny Boggs of Musella, Phyllis Huff and Glynn McDaniel of Gray, Melba and Hank Harper of Villa Rica and Johnnie and Buzz Benson of Walterboro, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Academy, 4364 Upper River Road, Gray, Georgia 31032.
