Robert "Billy" William Newton, 81, died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association Hospice House in Concord.Born in Concord, he was the son of James and Evanathia (Josif) Newton.He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for Sanel Auto Parts in hydraulic repairs.Robert was a member of St. George Cathedral in South Boston and a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Shriners. He loved woodworking.Survivors include his brother, Louis E. Newton of Concord; and his sister, Helen D. Newton and her husband, Russell A. Holden of Concord.Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 13, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 68 N. State St., Concord. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.Burial will follow at noon at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Cathedral, 523 E. Broadway, South Boston, Mass. 02127-4415; or to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 68 N.
