Royal Oak Tool & Machine WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Robert J. Walls of Winter Haven died of cancer Sunday (Jan. 5, 2003) at home under the care of Good Shepherd Hospice. He was 88. Born Feb. 23, 1914, in Royal Oak, Mich., he moved here from Frankfort, Mich., and Stuart 20 years ago. He was owner and vice president of Royal Oak Tool & Machine Co. He was a 32nddegree Mason of the Scottish Rite in Detroit and a member of Elks Club 1573 of Royal Oak, Mich. He was one of the founders of Forest Lake Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and a member of Crystal Downs Country Club in Frankfort, Mich., and Cypresswood Country Club in Winter Haven. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Mr. Walls was preceded in death by his first wife, Addie Francis Walls. he is survived by his wife, Mary "Evelyn" Walls; son, Jim Walls, Flagler Beach; daughters, Nancy LaMotte, Lower Plenty, Victoria, Australia, and Virginia Mitchell, Green Bay, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday in Crisp-Coon Funeral Chapel, Winter Haven. Services will follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Mich.
