Mr. Robert Luis Emmerson February 22, 1935 - December 1, 2008 EMMERSON, Robert Luis "Bobby" 73, Halifax, passed away peacefully at QEII Health Sciences Centre on Monday, December 1, 2008, surrounded by his family. Born in Africville, he was the son of the late Amos and Marjorie (Cassidy) Emerson and the late George Marsman. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rose (Dixon); daughters, Monica Marsman, Toronto, Karen Gray, Windsor, Ont.; Angela Marsman, Toronto, Annette Emmerson, Halifax; Natasha Emmerson, Halifax; Rose Emerson, Toronto, sons, Robert (Shannon) Emmerson, Halifax; Dwayne Emmerson, Halifax; brothers, Freddie Emmerson, Halifax; Vincent Emerson, Halifax; Frankie (Joanne) Emerson, Toronto; Wayne Marsman, Toronto; sisters, Madeline Wilkes, Toronto; Pansy Emerson, Halifax; Lorranda (Rennie) Ollivierre, Toronto; Sandra Marsman, Hammonds Plains; Arlene Marsman, Hammonds Plains; 8 grandchildren,two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son at birth, Kenny; sisters, Delores Flynn, Mildred Grassett; brothers, Reginald (Bud) Emerson, Albert (Pupboo) Emerson; and great-granddaughter, Faith Michelle West. Visitation will take place at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax, tomorrow, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Going-home service will take place on Thursday, December 4, in Cornwallis Street Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m., Rev. Rhonda Britton officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of 8.2 in QEII Sciences Centre for the care, kindness and respect they have shown.
