BARRY, Robert Joseph - With deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Robert Joseph Barry on October 14, 2009 in his 90th year at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Loving husband of Evva, dear father of Orlando Barry (Darcy Denham) of St. Catharines, and Terri Dale (Mick Mooney) of Niagara Falls. Survived by grandchildren Rebecca, Bethany and Bobby Joe and great grandchildren Lindsey and Bobby James. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Elizabeth and former wife Susan. Cherished brother of Bea Barbee Parker (Charles) of Georgia and Cora Kertis (Charles) of Minnesota. Also survived by many nieces and nephews from Niagara Falls, Newfoundland and USA. Robert served in the British Royal Navy as a radio operator during World War Two and was presented with a Distinguished Medal by the Queen Mother of England for his service and bravery in the sinking of the Bismarck. He worked for the CNR for almost 40 years in communications as a Train Movement Director. His greatest passion was looking after his dogs. He also rescues and adopted many throughout his lifetime. We will miss you “Paw Paw“. In lieu of flowers donations to the Humane Society would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church at 4673 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls on Monday October 26th at 7 p.m. A caring man with a giving heart, unselfish to the end, forever in our hearts and prayers.
