HANNA, Robert "Bob" GordonApril 30, 1933 - September 29, 2013Retired Professor - University of OttawaPassed away at home, surrounded by his family on Sunday September 29, 2013 at the age of 80. Forever loved by his wife Susan of 37 years. Adored, proud and most devoted father of Eric (Margot), Nancy (David Thomas) and Alexis (Hubert Lalande). Loving grandfather of Kristine, Elizabeth, Patrick, Madison, Adelise and Matthew. Cherished brother of Connie Elliott (Toronto) and Eileen Hamilton (Ottawa). Dearly loved by sister-in- law, Brenda (Joe Draicchio). A constant loving uncle to Chris, Rhonda and Shannon (Draicchio) and Darren and Brad (Hamilton). Bob will always be remembered for his unrelenting passion for teaching. A dedicated teacher for all of his life, Bob began his more than 35 year teaching career with the Ottawa Board of Education. In 1966 he accepted a position with the Ottawa Teachers College which subsequently became the Faculty of Education, University of Ottawa from 1974 to 1993. Around the home and with family and friends, Bob will always be remembered for his craftsmanship, accuracy and precision when it came to renovating and furniture making. When Bob wasn't teaching, building or renovating, he could be found on his skidoo on the Ottawa River or up at the cottage on the Big Rideau Lake. Quiet, fun-loving and kind, Bob cherished the memories, laughter and love of those around him, both near and far. Our family is deeply indebted to the incredible professional care provided by Dr. Lisa Cross and Dr Susan Gick and also to CCAC, especially Saba Arefaine. Family and friends are invited to visit the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Wednesday October 2 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm and on Thursday October 3 from 1 to 2pm. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 2:30pm with a reception to follow at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club.
