HANLEY Robert H., age 76, of Norwood, NJ on Saturday, October 11, 2008. Beloved husband of 50 years to Adele (nee Schott) Hanley. Devoted father of Diane Carson and her husband Peter of Groton, MA; Jean Hanley and her partner Douglas Hahn of Norwood, NJ; the late Robert E. Hanley and his late wife Wendy. Loving grandfather of Sarah and Rebecca Carson. He is predeceased by his brother, Edward J. Hanley and sister, Edna Dudley. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, he resided in Norwood for the past 46 years. He retired in 2001 from a 46 year career as a funeral director, where he provided comfort to so many families in their time of loss. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Bob will be deeply missed by those who loved him. He will be remembered for his love of folk music, especially when played by his family and friends; for his love of square dancing; and especially for his enjoyment of time spent together with those he loved, sharing good food, stories, and laughter. A memorial service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Old Tappan, NJ at a later date to be announced. Arrangements by Becker Funeral Home, Westwood, NJ.
