August 3, 2009 Robert E. Rawson, 71, life partner of Jeanette &quot;Dixie&quot; Dickson, died Monday, August 3, 2009, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Born in Cato, New York, he was a son of the late George Edgar Rawson and the late Ester Hunter Rawson. Mr. Rawson was a United States Army veteran. He retired from Coyne Trucking in 2005. Survivors include two sons, John Rawson (Sherry) and Edward Rawson, of Syracuse; seven grandchildren, Chaz, Dana, Brittany, and Tifany, all of N.Y., and Marty Jr, Matthew, and Mitchell, all of South Carolina; a brother, James Rawson (Pat) of Florida; a sister, Suzanne Killough (Robert) of Florida; a son-in-law, Martin Santimaw (Jacqueline); and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Piedmont Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Martin Santimaw, Matthew Santimaw, Martin Santimaw, Jr., Mitchell Santimaw, Joseph Magill, and Harold Dickson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at home, 990 St. Charles Road.
