METHUEN - Robert A. Sargent, 52, a former longtime Billerica resident and a Vietnam War veteran, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 21, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was the former husband of Linda L. (Comley) Sargent of Nashua.He was the son of George E. Sargent, who resided in Methuen, and the late Alice (Russell) Sargent. He lived in Billerica for 46 years before returning to Methuen. Mr. Sargent served in the Army during the Vietnam War.For 22 years, he worked as a custodian for MIT Lincoln Laboratories in Lexington. He was a member of the Greater Boston Building Services Local Union.He enjoyed fishing, gardening and feeding birds.Other survivors include a son, Robert Sargent of Nashua; a daughter, Alison Sargent of Reading; two sisters, Alice Szczepkowski of Windham, N.H., and Virginia Sargent, residing in Rhode Island; two brothers, Thomas Sargent of St. Lucy, Fla., and Joseph Sargent of Woburn; and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces.He was also the brother of the late George Sargent.
