Richard "Dick" F. Eccles of Belmont died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Lexington Health Care Center; he was 65. Mr. Eccles was born and raise in Somerville to the late Frank H. and Louise M. (Hanson) Eccles. He resided in Watertown for over twenty years before moving to Belmont 10 years ago. Dick worked as a toolmaker for Raytheon for 28 years and for Standard Thompson for several years after retiring from Raytheon. Mr. Eccles was a member of the American Legion Post 156. He is survived by his loving wife Gail A. (Williams) of Belmont, Michelle A. Berrio and her husband William of Holbrook, Richard Eccles Jr. of Acton, Susan Channell and her husband Shawn of Lynnfield, and Michael Eccles and his wife Kim (Stearns) of Billerica, and his sisters Sharon Fennessy and her husband Michael of CT, and Suzanne Pavao and her husband Floriano of Dennis. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert C. Eccles. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of Richard's life at the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 325 Trapelo Rd., BELMONT, Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 7 p.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 4-7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
