Rev. Henry Eugene "Gene" Cobb, age 75, of Cumming passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Gene was a member of County Line Baptist Church and pastored for 45 years at many churches. He was former Chaplain with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department and was one of the original volunteer fire fighters in Forsyth County.  A 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and York Rite Mason, he was a member and Past Master of Alpharetta Lodge #235 F&AM and Matt Lodge #694 F&AM.He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Ann "Pat" Cobb; son, Mike Cobb; brothers, Bill Cobb and Roy Cobb.Gene is survived by his daughter, Jennie Hamilton of Dahlonega; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Shannon Cobb of Cumming; sister, Libby Adams of Dahlonega; sisters-in-law, Diane Cobb of Whitesburg, Sara Cobb of Dawsonville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, W. Frank Dempsey and Deborah Grizzle; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Gene will be held Saturday, July 5, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bud Sutton officiating. Interment to follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
